Is 3 miles in 30 minutes ok for a beginner?
I’m joining winter track this year, and I’ve never ran track in my life. I’ve played other sports like soccer and lacrosse, but running very long distances is new to me. I have a few weeks before the season starts, so I’m trying to work on my speed now because I really want to excel
So today I ran 3 miles in 30 minutes on the treadmill at an incline of about 3.0. Is this an ok starting time? and will I improve if I keep up this routine everyday?
Biohazard: I know that the track is better, but I don’t really have access to one right now. I can’t stay after school to run on it, because the spring cross country team uses it. But i know what you mean, it is different to run on a real track than on the treadmill
For starters, not bad. However, you need to get off the treadmill and hit the track. A treadmill is not a very accurate measurement of time and distance.
